Designing prosthetic limb sockets is currently a very slow, manual process – patients typically go through ten different examples before finding one that fits. Research by Dr Joshua Steer at Southampton has produced algorithms designed for predicting the pressures prosthetic limb sockets will exert, allowing for faster, better design.

Josh received a prestigious Royal Academy of Engineering Enterprise Fellowship to create a spin-out company, Radii Devices, based on research from his PhD. SRSG were commissioned to architect a web platform for commercialisation, develop the back-end code, and mentor a newly hired developer working on the front-end.
