The NCS is a national centre that provides crystallography expertise to researchers across the UK.
Our Research Software Engineers have worked closely with NCS crystallographers to develop a completely new sample and experiment management system. This system, known as Portal2, is designed to be modular and easy to maintain or extend, while keeping consistency with the previous system where appropriate.
As part of this work we rigorously tested the feasibility of integration with Arkivum, the University’s prospective research data archiving service. We worked alongside with the Library and iSolutions, ensuring that the work aligned with University’s research data management strategy.
